Sean Capone sets sights on the Hammond Building

Kunkle Lounge.

Sean Capone visited campus in April and began his tour with a focus on the Hammond Engineering building. From the beginning, the Engineering committee expressed an interest in focusing on a work that could be installed on the facade of the Hammond Building facing College Avenue, a main thoroughfare with a lot of public exposure. Capone’s animated work will bring visibility to the building and college in a dynamic and colorful public work of art that will activate as the sun sets on campus.

We are fortunate to be able to involve a broad group of committee members from within the College of Engineering on this project since the beginning stages of the art selection process. Committee members, led by Justin Schwartz (Dean) and Kate Myers (Creative Director, Marketing & Communications), have all had an active role in the decision-making process.
