Tony Nguyen drawing on his tablet

Tony Nguyen is currently a senior in Abington with the concentration of newMedia (digital art) and IST. The type of work he enjoys the most is mainly in the digital field. While drawing digital artworks is his specialty, he can also do tactile work as well. Tony was commissioned by his high school to create four types of logos each identifying the year of the students. It was successfully made, printed, and purchased by students. In college, Tony worked on a comic book strip with my older brother. His brother was the director and the storyboard writer while Tony was the one who brought it to life. Right now, Tony is in another project that includes a collaboration with another student. It is a video game trailer that is fully created by animated sprites that talks about the underwhelming status of games that conveys good gameplay.

When it comes to climate change, it should be a common fact that it is a situation upon us. However, when it comes to being involved of fixing the problem, the lack of motivation of changing it is a problem itself. Tony wants to research any data and information about how much information about climate change is common knowledge and the ratio of progression to change and the increase of climate change situations. A figure that Tony admires is Jadav Payeng, an Indian man who planted an island with trees for the past 30 years. He restored all the trees and saved the wildlife that lives on it. That takes motivation and dedication, even though it took him three decades for him to fulfill his island without any recognition.

Tony’s part of the Installation project is, obviously, the digital field; he works on the WordPress site design and print vinyls. Mainly, he’ll be the one who takes control of the site, posts any source of information that needs to be on it, and give it the functionality he expects it to. Right now, the class has Instagram and Twitter as our tools for social media.
